Fanlistings?
What is a fanlisting? It's pretty much what it sounds; a list of fans of a certain subject. In this case, that subject is the Mage class from the Fire Emblem games series. If you'd like more information or links to fanlistings, head on over to TheFanlistings.Org or AnimeFanlistings.Org, for anime/manga-specific ones.
Fire Emblem?
Fire Emblem is a strategy RPG hybrid series that's been going for years, although it only recently became popular in the Western world. Many people who've heard of the Fire Emblem games got their first introduction to it from the two playable characters, Marth and Roy, in Super Smash Brothers Melee, but the series has been around for much longer. It's a strategy series, for lack of a better term, and generally involves knights, castles, princesses, unexpected invasions and armies going head to head.
Mages?
Mages are one of the major classes in the Fire Emblem series. They're exactly what they sound; they wield magic. Mages upgrade into Sage class (in Seima no Kouseki, they can also upgrade into 'Mage Knight', which is basically a mage on a pony) and having at least one powerful mage/sage is generally necessary to having a powerful final team. (In Souen no Kiseki, the magic system is altered considerably, but mages still remain. You can opt to have them use knives instead of staves when they upgrade to Sage, but the Sage strength cap is pitifully low, so it's not recommended.)
I've only played the four latest Fire Emblem games, so this isn't a complete list (my apologies), but these are the playable mage characters; (* indicates my personal favourite to use)
Fuuin no Tsurugi - Lugh*, Lilina, Hugh
Rekka no Ken - Erk, Nino* (you recruit Pent as a Sage)
Seima no Kouseki - Lute* (note: Ewan can be upgraded into a Mage from a Pupil. Also, you recruit Saleh as a Sage)
Souen no Kiseki - Soren*, Ilyana, Tormod (you recruit Calill and Bastien as Sages)
